Recently, His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama spoke in Seattle, Washington for the Seeds of Compassion forum. While speaking, he said many brilliant things as he is wont to do. But one thing stuck the most.

He said that newspapers and television news generate the feeling that the world has become a very bad place. It is in his opinion (and the opinion of the Queen Mum, apparently) that the world has actually become a better place over the last century.

So what this place is for is for positive things that happen in life. Whether they happen to us, or to somebody else and we see it, hear about it, or do for others. Share it here. If you have an organization, a project, an idea, share those too. Spreading the positive is just as acceptable as talking about it.

You do not have to be Buddhist to post here and appreciate the postings of others.

This is a forum for positive things. Happy things. Good things. The only rule here is that you do not post negativity in any form. Do not post hate, do not post viciousness, do not post crudeness. Do not post ugliness.

As of now, this is an open membership, unmoderated community. Please do not make that change.

That's all. Next question. - The 14th Dalai Lama
